A petition was started recently regarding this issue with the section 19 waivers and employment if you have a misdemeanor of dishonesty on your record weather expunged or not. This petition is to try to effect change. We want to change the safe act law to state that criminal histories of 20 years or older should not be considered when applying for banking jobs. I was recently directly affected by this issue. I was let go from a bank that I worked at for 15 years and had exceptional yearly reviews however because I had a misdemeanor on my record from 20 years ago I was let go. We want to change this law so that it's not so strict and doesn't ace good hard-working people out of banking jobs. Those of us that paid our debt to society and have had no crimes sense should not be discriminated against because of youthful indiscretions. Let's make change!!!!!!!!!!
